Dear Brother Knight,
Following the example of Pope Francis, the supreme chaplain and I urge you to pray a Novena for Protection in Time of Pandemic during this difficult moment for our country and our world.
At important moments in the past, the Knights of Columbus has urged its members to pray. We did this at the outset of World War II, after 9/11, and during papal conclaves and civic elections. Today, the world faces a pandemic illness for the first time in a century. Having lost our founder, the Venerable Servant of God Father Michael McGivney, to a viral pandemic 130 years ago, we know such situations can be very serious.
We also know that prayer is an important expression of our trust in God and our relationship with him. |

Origin and Objectives
The Knights of Columbus was chartered in 1882.
Father Michael J. McGivney and six parishioners of St. Mary's Church, New Haven, Connecticut, saw the need for an organization to serve the Church and the Parish Community. The basic principles set forth by the Knights of Columbus in that era still prevail.
CHARITY
To share our time, talents, gifts, and treasures with those in need.
UNITY
To work together to accomplish deeds not achievable Individually.
FRATERNITY
To aid our Brother Knights and their families, to show concern for them and to provide insurance protection for them.
PATRIOTISM
To serve and honor our Country in the Church and Community.

Mission: We are a Catholic, Family, Fraternal, Service Organization dedicated to the values and Faith of the Roman Catholic Church through the activities of members and their Councils that promote charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.
Vision: The Knights of Columbus comprised of Catholic men, with the involvement of their families, seek to insure the blessings of the Catholic faith through opportunities that provide support of the Church, our families, our community, our youth and councils.
